视频简介
This cut, Tai Chi, is interesting because I didn’t like it until I worked on its presentation. The first video shows what it’s like with just the mechanics. In the second one, I changed presentation such that it takes a lot more space by isolating one hand at a time. (The first might look pretty similar to the second because I’m so used to doing the second one). It improves the cut’s rhythm, helps hide some the ugly regrips, and overall makes it more unique. I think presentation is often overlooked by cardists who are starting to create because it can feel like two handed cuts are all about mechanics. Truth is, to properly appreciate the mechanics of a cut, they need to be well presented. What do you think? Can you think of a cut that relies more on how it’s presented than its mechanics? Is presentation something that always comes after or do you work on it while finding the mechanics (or both)? I’m curious to see what other people think.
